Allocating an IP address to the PC
NOTICE
Network errors due to multiple allocations of IP addresses.
a) Make sure that each IP address within the network is unique and not already allocated.
The following section describes how to allocate a unique IP address to the PC. The prerequisite
for this is that the IP address of the sensor has not been changed. If you do not know the IP ad-
dress of the sensor, please go to
Instruction:
a) In Windows, select Start | Control Panel | Network and Internet | View network status
and tasks | Change adapter settings.

The Network Connections window opens.
b) Click the symbol of the network adapter in use.
If you do not know the network adapter, remove the network cable of the sensor from the
PC and observe which text changes in the Network Connections window.
c) In the context menu (right-click the symbol) of the network adapter used, select Properties.

The Properties of Ethernet window opens.
d) Check Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
e) Click Properties.

The window Properties of Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) opens.
f) Under Use the following IP address, enter the following values:
IP address: in the range from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254. Select an IP address
that is not allocated yet in your network.
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
g) Click OK.
Result:

An IP address has been allocated to the PC.
