3.4.6 Changing oil, axis-5 gearbox

Different types of oil
The primary and secondary gear may require different types of oil, that must never
be mixed!
If they are mixed, the gear must be rinsed according to section
contaminated gearbox on page
Location of gearbox
The axis-5 gearbox is located in the wrist unit as shown in the following figure.

Wrist housing
Oil plug, filling/inspection, primary gearbox
The oil plug for draining of the primary gearbox is on the opposite side of the
wrist housing, not shown in the figure.
