Steri-run decontamination routine

steri-run is an automated decontamination program cycle that works with a fixed nominal temperature
and a software controlled routine for heating up, holding at the nominal temperature and cooling
down.
The entire program cycle of the decontamination routine takes less than 12 hours to accomplish.
During this routine, a hot and humid atmosphere at 180 °C with highly decontaminating effect is
created in the workspace for 90 minutes. The effectiveness of the steri-run decontamination routine
has been certified by independent institutes. The germ reduction efficiency achieved is equal to 10
(6-log reduction) to the ISO 11138 standard. On request, Thermo Scientific will supply information
on the pertinent tests.
Once the program cycle has been completed, restart the unit by launching the auto-start routine.
Note Conditions that prevent the start of the Steri-Run decontamination routine:
The steri-run decontamination routine cannot be started if one of the following failure conditions
exists.
Temperature control loop:
• Sensor breakage,
• Actual value high (excessive deviation from set value),
• Actual value low (excessive deviation from set value),
• Actual value not plausible,
• Error communication.
• Water has been detected.
Overtemperature protection:
If the overtemperature protection was enabled on the device, the steri-run decontamination routine
cannot be started before the fault has been corrected or reset.
No gas is supplied during the steri-run decontamination routine on versions with the optional gas
monitoring system:
If the error "no gas" occurs during the steri-run decontamination routine, the audible alarm is
triggered. The alarm can be confirmed by pressing on any position on the display. In this case, the
steri-run decontamination routine is not cancelled. The alarm relay remains switched until the gas
monitoring system detects a full gas cylinder again.
Progress of a Steri-Run decontamination routine:
1. After cleaning, reinstall the shelf system components into the workspace.
2. Turn on the device using the power switch.
3. Activate and start the decontamination routine.
4. After a steri-run routine, power the unit down.
5. Remove the airbox
