2.2 SCANNING

NOTE: Perform or check the "Registration plus Blank Margin Adjustment"
(Printing) before the following scanning lead edge and side-to- side
registration adjustments.
1. Enter the SP mode and open SP
Adjustment P-21, No. 126 and
127 (Lead Edge Registration,
Side to Side Registration -
Scanning) [A].
2. Confirm that the both scanning
registrations [B] are set at their
factory settings. (Refer to the
Factory Set Data Sheet of the
machine.)
NOTE: Normally the settings
entered at the factory
meets the standard copy
image.
3. Touch the Copy in SP key [C] and using the 11" x 17" paper tray make a
full color copy of the C4 chart in photo mode.
Perform steps 4 to 6 for both sides of the test chart.
NOTE: The C4 chart is wider then 11". To perform the procedure for
the right side of the copy, align the C4 chart with 11" mark on
the left scale and make a copy.
4. Check the vertical lines on the side of the test chart copy. Verify that the
yellow and cyan lines overlap the black line. If they do not, continue with
step 5, otherwise exit SP mode.
5. Touch the SP modes key and
open SP Adjustment P-20,
No. 130 (Vertical Line Alignment)
[D]. Read the present setting and
locate the setting on the graph
(see next page).
6. Change the setting according to
the graph on the next page by following
these rules:
