8.7 COLOR SLEEVE MOTOR REPLACEMENT

1. Turn off the main switch and unplug the machine.
2. Remove the upper rear cover and swing open the main board [A] (1
screw).
3. Remove the fly wheel (4 screws). (See Black Sleeve Motor
Replacement.)
4. Remove the development bias high voltage supply board [B] (2 screws
and 6 connectors).
5. Remove the nut [C] on the shaft with the spacer [D].
6. Remove the fly wheel supporting bracket [E] (2 Allen screws).
7. Remove the drum drive gear cover [F] (2 screws).
8. Remove the tension spring [G] and free the timing belt [H].
9. Remove the color sleeve motor bracket [I] (6 screws and 3 connectors).
10. Replace the desired sleeve motor.
NOTE: Each color sleeve motor can be removed from the copier
simply by unscrewing 4 screws.
However we recommend removing the bracket assembly so
you can verify that the sleeve gears are not worn or chipped.
