8.3 TONER DENSITY SENSOR REPLACEMENT

NOTE: When replacing the toner density sensor (any color), developer for
all colors must be replaced so that all have similar characteristics.
1. Collect the developer. (See Developer Collection section.)
2. Remove both development units. (See Installation Procedure section.)
-Black and Cyan-
3. Remove the black and cyan development unit cover [A] (2 screws).
4. Replace the desired toner density sensor [B] (2 screws and 1 connector).
-Magenta and Yellow-
3. Remove the magenta and yellow development unit base [C] (4 screws).
4. Replace the desired toner density sensor [D] (2 screws and 1 connector).
NOTE: When reinstalling, make sure of the following.
•
The spacer [E] is secured firmly to prevent developer from spilling
out.
•
Mount the harness over the stepping screw [F].
5. Install new developer. (See Developer Installation section.)
