7.2 INSTALLING A NEW DRUM

NOTE: 1) If you are re-installing an old drum and an old blade, you don't
need to perform steps 4 and 7. If you replace either the blade or
the drum, or both, you must apply setting powder.
2) Hold only the edge of the OPC drum to rotate it (within 1 cm, 0.4"
from the end).
1. Install the new drum with the protective sheet still on it.
2. Reinstall the front and rear drum supports (2 screws each).
3. Remove the OPC drum protective sheet [A].
4. Apply setting powder [B] to the entire surface of the drum.
5. Loosen then move the knob [C] from [D] to [E].
[D] position = No pressure being applied
[E] position = Pressure being applied
6. Tighten the knob [C] at the lower position [E].
7. While pressing up the latch [F] to apply the cleaning blade pressure,
rotate the OPC drum counterclockwise 3 times to ensure the setting
powder is evenly applied, as shown.
NOTE:
Hold only the edge of the OPC drum to rotate it (within 1 cm,
0.4" from the end).
