8. After collecting the black developer, make sure to shift back the magnet
release lever to ensure proper developer flow in the unit.
9. To maintain good color copy quality, the developer replacement should
be performed for all colors at the same time so that all the developers
have similar characteristics.
10. When installing new developer, the following should be performed to
avoid damage to the copier.
a) The new developer needs more than 1 minute to get evenly
distributed in the development unit. Do not stop the distributing
procedure within 1 minute.
b) When performing the developer initial setting, make sure that the
charge corona, PCC and the ID sensor board are set correctly. If it is
not, proper initial setting can not be performed.
c) When performing the developer initial setting, make sure that the toner
tank is not set. If the toner tank is set, toner will be supplied during
the developer initial setting and the machine can not figure out the
proper toner concentration of the new developer.
d) After taking 30 full color copies, wait 5 minutes to ensure that no
residual voltage remains on the OPC drum. The Process Control Self
Check (SP Test Mode P-6, no. 210) will not be performed properly
unless there is no residual voltage remaining on the OPC drum.
11. When using the vacuum cleaner to clean the development unit casing,
always ground the casing with your fingers to avoid damaging the toner
density sensor from static electricity.

1.8 DRUM CLEANING

1. When installing a new cleaning blade, apply setting powder to the entire
surface of the drum. Manually apply the cleaning blade pressure to the
drum and rotate it counterclockwise 3 times.
2. Do not touch the cleaning brush with oily bare hands.
3. Clean the PCC wire with dry cloth. Do not use sandpaper or a solvent.
4. Clean the PCC casing with damp or dry cloth.
5. Clean the PCC end blocks with dry cloth.
