SUBJECT: SC302, 346, 354, 544, 547
SYMPTOM:
A blank copy with a slightly dirty background, may accompany one of the following service codes:
SC302, 346, 354, 544, 547.
CAUSE:
The Ground Brush does not come in contact with the Hot Roller and Pressure Rollers because the brack et
of the brush is bent or the brush itself is deform.
The Ground Brush does not cone in contact with the Fusing Guide Plate because the Ground Brush is
deform.
If the Ground Brush does not contact the Guide Plate or the rollers, a static electrical charge accu mulates on
them when continuous copies are made. An electrical arc occurs when the amount of the static elect rical
charge reaches the threshold level and this arcing causes the SC condition.

Make sure the brush
contacts both rollers
Pressure Roller
SOLUTION:
Using a multimeter, ensure the rollers and the Guide Plate are grounded. Replace the appropriate bru shes if
the rollers or the Guide Plate are not properly grounded.
NOTE: Start with the Highest
Ohm Setting when checking the
resistance.
