SUBJECT: NON-ENERGY STAR COPIER MAIN BOARD
GENERAL:
The old style (pre-Energy Star) Main Boards are no longer available as service parts. However, the new
style (Energy Star) Main Board can be used in older (non-Energy Star) machines as long as the old RO M is
installed on the new Main Board.
For more information regarding Energy Star compliant equipment, refer to Publications Bulletin No. P UB-066
and Technical Service Bulletin No. 4027/4527/5035/5535/4022/4522 - 010 and 011.

NOTE: 1. When replacing the Main Board, install the old RAM Board on the new Main Board.
2. If the data in the old RAM Board is damaged, leave the new RAM Board on the new
Main Board and perform the Reset All Memory procedure found on pages 4-12 and 4-13
of the Field Service Manual.
3. When installing the new style Main Board in an old (non-Energy Star) machine, DO NOT
connect anything to CN143 on the Main Board. CN143 is a black, two pin connector which
is used for the Energy Star Main Switch.
