GENERAL:
From the August, 1995 production run, all FT5535 Series copiers have already met 1997 Energy Star
specifications set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA - tier 2). Modifications to these ma chines
effect the following three modes: Energy Saver Mode, Auto "OFF" Mode and Duplex Default Mode. Speci fic
details are as follows:

ENERGY SAVER MODE
When the copier is not in use, the energy saver function reduces power consumption by decreasing the
fusing temperature. If the energy saver mode timer (set by SP5-102) runs out, the copier automatica lly
enters the energy saver mode. The fusing lamp switches "OFF" until the fuser reaches the temperatur e
selected with SP1-105-002. The longer the the fusing lamp has been "OFF", the longer the recovery t ime
(see diagram below).
Once in Energy Saver Mode, any action to use the copier begins
the recovery time (30 seconds or less) back to a Ready condition.
