ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• All FT5035/5535 copiers shipped from Ricoh inventory after 7/28/95 have had the new style Clutch
Roller installed by REI.
• The clutch lock occurrence ratio varies according to machine operating conditions. However, once th e
clutch has become locked, the feed roller shaft and paper feed drive roller may also need to be
replaced.
• The expected occurrence ratio for the FT5535 is lower than that of the FT5035. This is because,
generally speaking, a machine with an LCT (FT5535) uses the LCT more than the other feed trays in
the machine. The One-Way Clutch used on the FT5535 LCT/By-pass feed section is a different type
than that used in the other feed trays and is not subject to a clutch lock condition. Therefore. it is
recommended that the FT5035 models (without an LCT) be modified as a first priority.
ORDERING PROCEDURE:
Ricoh Corporation will automatically ship 100% of the Clutch Rollers, 20% of the Feed Roller Shafts and
10% of the Paper Feed Drive Rollers for all FT5035/5535 affected units shipped prior to 7/28/95 base d on
Ricoh's Equipment Shipped Records.

UNITS AFFECTED:
All FT5035 copiers manufactured from Serial Number A3625010001 to A3625050001 and all FT5535
copiers manufactured from Serial Number A3694120001 to A3695040001 are susceptible to the above
mentioned symptom.
