MECHANICAL COMPONENT CONTROLS
Clutch pedal: Removal - Refitting
RIGHT-HAND DRIVE
Tightening torquesm
clutch shaft nut
REMOVAL
OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the cable from its slot, lifting the pedal and
placing the cable perpendicular to the pedal.
a Remove the nut (1) from the pedal assembly shaft.
a Remove the shaft to release the clutch pedal.
a Extract the spring (3) from its housing (2) on the
clutch pedal support.
a Remove the clutch pedal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
a Check the condition of the components.
a Replace any faulty parts.
a Coat the shaft with MOLYCOTE 33M grease (see
Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the repair)
(MR 388, 04B, Consumables - Products).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Place the clutch pedal in position with its spring.
16 Nm
Note:
Do not hit the shaft with a hammer to get it to go
back into place.
a Refit:
- the clutch pedal shaft,
- the clutch pedal shaft nut.
a Torque tighten the clutch shaft nut (16 Nm).
a Fit the cable in its notch, on the clutch pedal.
III - FINAL OPERATION.
a Check that the cable fits perfectly in the groove pro-
vided for it on the pedal.
a Check and adjust the clutch control cable clearance
if necessary (see Clutch control: Adjustment) .
a Check that the whole clutch system operates cor-
rectly.
