REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Remove the front wheel on the side concerned (see
35A, Wheels and tyres, Wheel: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 35A-1) .
a Remove the track rod (see 36A, Steering assem-
bly, Track rod: Removal - Refitting, page 36A-4) .
a Remove the steering box gaiter (see 36A, Steering
assembly, Steering box gaiter: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 36A-9)
a Unlock the steering column.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Set up the (1) on the steering rack, at the pinion
end.
STEERING ASSEMBLY

a Unlock the axial ball joint using tool (2) .
a Remove the axial ball joint.

Note:
Take care not to deform the gaiters: they could
be irreparably damaged.
