Mainshaft Disassembly
1 . R e m o v e t h e a n g u l a r b a l l b e a r i n g ( A ) a n d t h e
tapered cone ring using a commercially available
b e a r i n g s e p a r a t o r { B ) a n d a c o m m e r c i a l l y a v a i l a b l e
b e a r i n g p u l l e r { C ) . B e s u r e t h e b e a r i n g s e p a r a t o r i s
u n d e r t h e t a p e r e d c o n e r i n g .
Support 5th gear (A) on steel blocks, and press the
mainshaft out of the sth synchro hub (B). Use of a
jaw-type puller can damage the gear teeth.
