7 . Apply engine oil to the bolt threads and under the
b o l t h e a d s o f a l l t h e c y l i n d e r h e a d b o l t s .
Tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence to 39
N.m {4.0 kgf.m, 29 lbf.ft). Use a beam-type torque
wrench. When using a preset-type torque wrench,
be sure to tighten slowly and do not overtighten. lf
a bolt makes any noise while you are torquing it,
loosen the bolt and retighten it from the first step.
9 . After torquing, tighten all cylinder head bolts in two
steps (90" per step). lf you are using a new cylinder
head bolt, tighten the bolt an extra 90..

Install the water bypass hose (A).

Tighten the connecting pipe mounting bolt (B) and
brake booster vacuum line mounting bolts (C), then
i n s t a l l t h e h a r n e s s h o l d e r ( D ) o n t h e b r a c k e t .
Installthe upper radiator hose {A) and heater hose
( B ) .
