Fuel Line/Ouick-Gonnect Fittings Removal
1 . R e l i e v e f u e l p r e s s u r e ( s e e p a g e 1 ' l - 1 4 4 ) .
Check the fuel quick-connect fiftings for din, and
clean if necessary.
Hold the connector (A) with one hand and squeeze
the retainertabs (B)with the other hand to release
them from the locking paws (C). Pull the connector
off.
NOTE:
. B e c a r e f u l n o t t o d a m a g e t h e l i n e i D ) o r o t h e r
parts. Do not use tools.
. lf the connectordoes not move, keep the retainer
tabs pressed down, and alternately pull and push
the connector until it comes off easily.
. Do not remove the retainer from the line; once
removed, the retainer must be replaced with a
new one.
4. C heck the contact a rea (A) of the line (B)for dirt and
d a m a g e .
. lf the surface is dirty, clean it.
. if the surface is rusty or damaged, replace the
f u e l p u m p , f u e l f i l t e r , f u e l f e e d l i n e .

To prevent damaged and keep foreign matter out,
cover the disconnected connector and line end with
plastic bags (A).
NOTE:
. The retainer cannot be reused once it has been
r e m o v e d f r o m t h e l i n e .
Replaced the retainer when
- r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l r a i l .
- r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l f e e d I i n e .
- r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l p u m P .
- replacing the fuel filter.
- r e p l a c i n g t h e f u e l g a u g e s e n d i n g u n i t
- it has been removed from the line.
