Cylinder Head Removal (cont'd)
Remove the rocker arm assembly (see page 6-26).
Remove the cylinder head bolts. To prevent
warpage, unscrew the bolts in sequence 1/3 turn at
a t i m e ; r e p e a t t h e s e q u e n c e u n t i l a l l b o l t s a r e
loosened.
CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS LOOSENING SEQUENGE:
1 4 . R e m o v e t h e c y l i n d e r h e a d .

VTC Actuator, Exhaust Camshaft

Sprocket Replacement
Removal:
1 . R e m o v e t h e c a m c h a i n ( s e e p a g e 6 - 1 2 ) .
2. Hold the camshaft with an open-end wrench, then
loosen the variable valve timing control (VTC)
actuator mounting bolt and exhaust camshaft
sprocket mounting bolt.
Remove the VTC actuator and exhaust camshaft
sprocket.
