MLD Proxy Configuration

When you configure an interface in MLD proxy mode, it acts as a proxy multicast host that sends MLD
membership reports on one interface for MLD Membership reports received on all other MLD-enabled
router interfaces.
Use the MLD Proxy Interface Configuration page to enable and disable ports as MLD proxy interfaces.
To display this page, click IPv6 Multicast → MLD → Proxy Interface → Interface Configuration in the
navigation tree.
Figure 12-29. MLD Proxy Interface Configuration
The MLD Proxy Interface Configuration page contains the following fields:
Interface — Select the interface for which data is to be displayed or configured from the menu. You
must have configured at least one router interface before configuring or displaying data for an MLD
Proxy interface and it should not be a MLD routing interface.
Interface Mode — Select enable or disable from the menu to set the administrative status of MLD
Proxy on the selected interface. The default is disable. Routing, MLD and Multicast global admin
modes should be enabled to enable MLD Proxy interface mode.
Unsolicited Report Interval — Enter the unsolicited time interval value in seconds. The Unsolicited
Report Interval is the time between repetitions of a host's initial report of membership in a group. Valid
values are from (1 to 260). The default value is 1.
Click Apply Changes to send the updated configuration to the switch. Configuration changes take effect
immediately. These changes will not be retained across a power cycle unless a save is performed.
