GEARBOX SWITCH

Disconnect gearbox switch connectors.

Using a multimeter, check switch as follows.
SHIFT LEVER
WIRE
POSITION
Forward
BROWN/YELLOW
Any other
and engine ground
position
GREEN/RED and
Any other
engine ground
position
Reverse
GREEN/WHITE and
Any other
engine ground

0.5 max
Infinite (0L.)
Neutral 0.5 max

Infinite (0L.)
If any test fail, check wiring and if good, replace
gearbox switch. Remove driven pulley to have
access to switch. Refer to CONTINUOUS VARI-
ABLE TRANSMISSION.
NOTE: Also pay attention to shift drum contact pin
condition.

OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

NOTE: Oil seals can be replaced when engine is
installed in vehicle.
Remove required component(s).
Using a small tool, like a pick, remove oil seal from
its housing.
CAUTION: Pay attention not to damage shaft
during removal of oil seal.
