Installation
Installation is essentially the reverse procedure of
removal.

STARTING CLUTCH GEAR

Inspection
Remove magneto cover.
Remove flywheel.
Check starting clutch gear for wear and damage.
Check clutch operation as follows.
Firmly hold flywheel while turning starting clutch
gear clockwise. Gear must not turn.

Firmly hold flywheel while turning starting clutch
gear counterclockwise. Gear must turn freely.

Subsection 07 (MAGNETO AND STARTER DRIVE)

Check outside diameter for hammered surface,
deformation or scratches.
Measure diameters as follows.

Check each roller of one way clutch for wear or
damage.
