Using a small diameter bore gauge, measure pis-
ton pin bore diameter.

Replace piston if out of specifications.
Calculate the piston/cylinder clearance as follows.
Clearance = measured piston diameter –
piston diameter service limit
PISTON/CYLINDER WALL CLEARANCE
Nominal (new)
Service limit
If clearance exceeds specified tolerance, replace
worn part.
Piston Pin
Inspect piston pin for scoring, cracking or other
damages.
Using a micrometer, measure piston pin diameter.
