  • Page 16 – Use only an approved red gasoline container to store fuel. – The container must be firmly secured to the cargo box and placed so that it does not touch the ground in the event of an overturning. BRP LinQ contain- ers are highly recommended.
  • Page 17 BRP for the vehicle. These modifications have not been tested by BRP and they may increase the risk of injury or loss of control, or render the vehicle illegal to ride. As an example, tampering with tire specifications may af- fect the behavior of the vehicle and increase the risk of a loss of control.
  • Page 18 Each visit to your authorized BRP dealer is a great opportu- nity for your dealer to verify if your vehicle is included in any safety campaign. We also urge you to visit your authorized BRP dealer in a timely manner if you become aware of any safety related campaigns.
  • Page 19 SAFE OPERATION - RESPONSIBILITIES control. Drive at low speeds. Higher speeds require greater experience, knowl- edge and suitable riding conditions. Be at least 16 years of age. Be tall enough to be properly seated: back against the backrest with the seat belt fastened, to hold the steering wheel with both hands and still be able to reach the full stroke of brake and accelerator pedals with the right foot and to firmly plant left foot on the footrest.

  • Page 25 PREPARE TO RIDE strike the cage itself or objects outside the vehicle. Even the best helmet is no guarantee against injury, but statistics indicate that helmet use significantly re- duces the risk of brain injury. So, be safe and always wear a helmet while riding.   • Page 26 PREPARE TO RIDE In cool-weather riding, protect yourself against hypothermia. Hypothermia, a con- dition of low body temperature, can cause loss of concentration, slowed reac- tions and loss of smooth, precise muscle movement. In cool conditions, proper protective gear like a windproof jacket and insulated layers of clothing are essen- tial.

  • Page 28 AVOID ACCIDENTS – Never grab the cage while riding. Hands can be crushed between the cage and the ground in a rollover. Keep hands on the steering wheel or handholds. – Never try to stop a rollover using your arms or legs. If you think that the ve- hicle may tip or roll, the driver should keep both hands on the steering wheel and the left foot firmly planted on the footrest.

  • Page 30 RIDING YOUR VEHICLE – Install 1 cone marker on both sides of the vehicle beside each rear wheel. Move the vehicle forward until you can see the cone markers, then stop the vehicle. Acknowledge the distance required to see obstacles behind you. –...
  • Page 31 RIDING YOUR VEHICLE To maintain proper control it is strongly advised that you keep your hands on the steering wheel and within easy reach of all controls. The same holds true for your feet. To minimize the possibility of any leg or foot injury, keep your left foot on the footrest and right foot on the floor at all times.
  • Page 32 RIDING YOUR VEHICLE Mud or marsh lands may be encountered near water. Be prepared for sudden “holes” or changes in depth. Similarly so, be watchful of hazards such as rocks, logs, etc., partially covered by vegetation.   • Page 33 RIDING YOUR VEHICLE When riding in sand dunes it is advisable to equip the vehicle with an antenna type safety flag. This will help make your location more visible to others over the next sand dune. Proceed carefully should you see another safety flag ahead. Since the antenna type safety flag can snag and rebound on your body if caught, do not use it in areas where there are low hanging branches or obstacles.
  • Page 34 RIDING YOUR VEHICLE U U p p h h i i l l l l D D r r i i v v i i n n g g Use the low range (L) for uphill driving. Due to its configuration, this vehicle has very good traction even while climbing, so much so that tip over is possible before traction is lost.
  • Page 35 RIDING YOUR VEHICLE cross country ski trails, mountain bike trails, etc. Never assume there are no oth- er users on the trail. Always stay to the right of the trail and do not zig zag to one side of the trail then the other. Be prepared to stop or pull off to the side if another trail user appears in front of you.
