NCW resource scheduler initially attempts to place the burst within bandwidth segments
that provide the required spatial connectivity and whose uplink EIRP range
encompasses the EIRP of the source terminal and downlink G/T range encompasses
the G/T of the destination terminal. Bandwidth segments satisfying such criteria are
referred to as "preferred" bandwidth segments. If a burst can have multiple source
terminals, (e.g., Contention ROW bursts) then the EIRP of the most-disadvantaged
node is utilized to determine the "preferred" bandwidth segment(s). If a burst has

Setting the Terminal for NCW Mode as Network Controller

a. Select Configure → Network Centric Waveform Setup. (See Figure 8-3)
1) When the NCW Parameters Screen opens, enter a Node Name that the
Satellite Service Provider as assigned to your system. (See Figure 8-4)
