Table 10-4 Multicast Config Tab

Description
Controls whether PIM snooping is enabled or disabled. When PIM
snooping is enabled, the NC dynamically establishes NCW multicast
groups based on snooped PIM packets. The default value is disabled.
Controls the time, before snooping the next PIM-Hello, which a NCW
node retains context information about the local PIM router along with
membership in all NCW groups established by PIM snooping at the
node. If the node does not receive a PIM-Hello within Hello Hold Time
seconds, the PIM snooping context is torn down and the group
membership is released. This object will be superseded by receipt of a
PIM-Hello packet containing a Hold Time option. The default value is
105 seconds.
Controls the minimum time between retransmissions of a multicast
Orderwire message by the NM without receipt of the expected
response message from the NC. The default value is 60 seconds.
Controls the number of times the NM will retransmit the same
multicast Orderwire message, without receipt of the expected
response message from the NC. Once this number is reached, the NM
will cease transmission of the message and report the failure to you.
The default value is 5.
Controls the minimum time between the sending, by the NC, of
unsolicited multicast Group Directory messages. The default value is
30 seconds. Maximum is 4294967295.
Controls the minimum time between the NM requesting an updated
Group Directory from the NC (due to receipt at its Ethernet interface of
multicast packets with no mapping from the Ethernet multicast MAC
address to a NCW multicast group address) and the time of the next
request. The default value is 3.0 seconds.
Controls the maximum number of NCW groups that the NC may
dynamically establish. This object can be used for testing (of maximum
limits) or to reserve NCW group addresses for later use in Orderwire
groups. The default value is 254.
This table lists Ethernet multicast MAC addresses that are disallowed
from establishing NCW multicast group addresses. Packets with these
destination addresses will be sent over the air to the NCW broadcast
address. You may add/remove/edit entries to/from this table, as
needed. The default is no entries and the maximum allowed number of
entries is 32.
Selecting this button will send the above multicast configuration
settings to the Modem.
When red, indicates that a multicast error has occurred and has been
logged. See section 1 regarding the log files.
Selecting this button will close multicast error log. Another log will be
created if another multicast event occurs. See section 1.
This button becomes visible when user modifies or enters new
value(s).
This button becomes visible when Apply button becomes "enabled".
