13.4 Troubleshooting Tables

This section contains troubleshooting tables with information for locating and correcting
system malfunction(s), and tests or inspections, which will help determine probable
cause(s) and corrective action(s). Perform the tests/inspections and corrective actions
in the order listed. The troubleshooting table cannot list all malfunctions,
tests/inspections and corrective actions. If a malfunction is not listed, or cannot be
corrected by the listed corrective actions, notify your supervisor.
Table 13-1 BIT Status Troubleshooting
Clear – Modem is off or measuring internal functions.
Green – Internal modules/functions working normally;
communications with PC established.
Red – Modem has failed boot process parameters or there is an
active alarm.
Green – Good power supply, no faults found.
Red – Illuminates upon initial power on during BIT for a few
seconds. Illuminates steady upon a fault failure.
Green – TRANSEC OK
Red – TRANSEC fault
HW (green background) – Hardware is functioning properly.
HW (red background) – Hardware is not functioning properly.
COMM (green background) – Communication with CDU
established.
COMM (red background) – Communication with CDU not
established or lost.
Green – TRANSEC Key accepted.
Red – TRANSEC Key rejected or not loaded.
No OTAR change over date assigned (green background) –
Modem is connected.
Missing current Pass Phrase (red background) – Pass Phrase in
TRANSEC tab is not accepted and Modem cannot connect to
network.
