8.8.4 NCW PSD Tab

You use this screen to Add, Delete or Edit data entries within the Antenna Beamwidth
versus Power Spectral Density (PSD) table in degrees of Antenna Beamwidth and
associated PSD in dBW/Hz. To enable/disable Spread Spectrum Operations refer to the
Satellite Beam Entry Section (6.3.4).
When adding or editing entries the HCI will display a dialog box for you to enter or edit
the data entries (See Figure 8-20). The PSD values in this table represent the highest
allowable transmit power spectral density level at beam center for the associated
Antenna in order to meet the applicable PSD limits (as regulated by the governing
agency in the region of network operation). The default values in this table represent
those mandated by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The NC
Modem uses the values in this table to determine the amount of spreading to assign to
a particular Terminal based on its Antenna size (Beamwidth) and the EIRP allocated to
the link.
Refer to Table 8-14 NCW PSD Tab for data descriptions for this window
