14.3.2 External Signal Pin Assignments

Panel Connector – External Interfaces
14.3.2.1
The Modem will accept and synchronize to a 5-MHz or 10-MHz sinusoidal reference
signal source. The Modem is capable of operating without an external reference
frequency. The interface is located on the rear panel J10 connector.

The Modem will allow the user to select the frequency of the provided frequency
standard input via the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Management
Information Base (MIB). The frequency selection defaults to 10MHz.

14.3.2.3 TX Intermediate Frequency Output Interface
The Modem has an L-Band TX Intermediate Frequency range output that meets the
performance specifications given in Table 14-4. In addition to supporting the transmit IF
signal, this interface is capable of sourcing a 10 MHz sinusoidal reference signal. This
interface is also capable of sourcing up to 3 A of DC current at the voltage provided on
the Antenna DC In line, further described in Section 14.3.2.15. It is possible to disable
both the reference signal and DC power outputs at this interface.
For Single Carrier per Channel (SCPC) operation, this TX IF interface complies with the
performance specified in Paragraph 5.1.6, IF Output Interface, of MIL-STD-188-165A.
This interface is located on the rear panel J7 connector.
