ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD)
This equipment contains Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESDS) components. Certain
circuit cards and their components may be damaged by undetectable electrostatic
discharges. Care must be exercised during handling and/or repair of these items.
Effective control of ESD is maintained only through continuous strict observance of the
maintenance procedures.
GIVE CLEANERS/CHEMICALS SPECIAL CARE
Keep in approved safety containers and in minimum quantities. Some cleaners/
chemicals can have an adverse effect on skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Observe
manufacturer WARNING labels and current safety directives. Use cleaners/chemicals
only in authorized areas. Discard soiled cloths in safety cans. Unless otherwise
indicated in the text, use as described in this Operator Manual, which should not result
in any immediate health concerns. Consult the local Bioenvironmental Engineer for
specific protective equipment and ventilation requirements.
USE SAFETY-APPROVED EQUIPMENT
When cleaners and primers are being applied, approved explosion-proof lights, blowers
and other equipment shall be used. Ensure that firefighting equipment is readily
available and in working order.
SAFETY SUMMARY
The following safety items apply specifically to the system and appear throughout the
manual prior to the procedure impacted. They are summarized here for review.
The Intermediate Frequency (I/F) Extras control the voltages on the
Transmit (TX) and Receive (RX) connectors. Please confirm that the
attached equipment is capable of operating with DC voltage applied
to its RX and/or TX port prior to applying the I/F extra settings. This
could cause damage to equipment that is attached to the receive
and/or transmit port.
