4 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

This section details procedures for installing the HCI software on the CDU PC and the

Modem software on the and Modem. Procedures for uninstalling the software as well as

installing software updates for the PC are addressed in Section 14.1.

a. Remove contents from box and inventory contents. (See Section 1.2 Provided

Equipment)

b. Connect the PC to the CDU port (J2) on the Modem with an Ethernet cable or via

an Ethernet switch (optional). (See Figure 4-1)

c. Connect Power Cable to Modem.

d. Turn on PC.

e. Turn on Modem and allow the Modem to fully boot. This can take up to four (4)

minutes. The Modem is operational when the front panel status LED illuminates

Green.

A PC is required for hosting the Modem HCI program. The system will require the

following operating setup:

Microsoft Windows® 2000 SP6 or Windows® XP Professional SP3

Microsoft Windows® .NET Framework software version 1.1 component must be

installed on the system

If the PC has a later version of NetFramework1.1, it must be uninstalled

prior to installing NetFramework1.1.
