9.2.2 NCW Message Tab

This page repeats the Terminal list from the Network page and shows the log of
messages sent and received. Right-click on an entry in the Network Terminal List to
bring up the Send Message dialog. Each message allows a maximum of 255
characters. Double-clicking on a message entry will display the full message. Right-click
in the Short Message Log list to select "Clear, Print and Save To File" options.
An audible indication is provided when a short message is received.
The sound associated with this audible indication needs to be named
"beep.wav" and must be located in the same directory as the Modem
HCI executable file (typically "C:\Program Files\L-3 Communications,
Linkabit Division\IP Modem HCI"). If that file does not exist, then the
audible indication will be a beep tone at 500 Hz for a 1/2 second.
Refer to Table 9-2 NCW Message Tab for data descriptions for this window.
When you are not viewing the Message Tab and a message is received, a flashing
visual indication of a "New Message" has arrived will be located in the bottom right
status field of the HCI application.
