Probe Disinfecting
Probe disinfection can protect patients and operators from disease trans-
mission.
Use additional precautions when decontaminating an infected probe.

Cleaning/Disinfection
Cleaning+ High-level disinfection
Disconnect the probe from the unit.
Wipe the probe lens with a soft cloth to remove the coupling gel.
Wipe the probe and cable with a soft cloth dampened with the rec-
ommended cleaning solution for 9 minutes at 40°C.
Wipe off the cleaning solution with clean cloth, dampen with tap
water after cleaning until no visible cleaning agent remains.
Wipe off with a dry cloth to remove residual moisture, and then left
the probe to air dry.
Low-level disinfection (LLD)
After thoroughly cleaning, wipe the probe and cable with a

soft cloth dampened with the recommended LLD solution for
15 min.
Wipe off the solution with a dry cloth after disinfection, then

left the probe to air dry.
High-level disinfection (HLD)
High-level disinfection destroys vegetative bacteria, and the procedure
is as the following:
After thorough cleaning, wipe the probe and cable with a soft

cloth dampened with the recommended HLD solution for 12
min at 20℃.
Wipe off the disinfectant solution with a dry cloth after disin-

fection.
Rinse thoroughly with water, then leave the probe to air dry.
STEP 3
Use only the specified germicides for probe disinfection.
