Optimizing CW Doppler Mode
Preset generally gives optimal performance with minimal adjustment. If
necessary, the following controls can be used to further optimize the CW
mode display:

In CW mode, user can start PW/TVD mode by pressing PW key or select-
ing TDI parameter of the Main menu.
Select Gain to adjust gain in the spectral Doppler area.
Set LVRej to reduce unwanted low velocity blood flow and tissue
movement.
Select Freq. to optimize flow display. Higher setting will improve reso-
lution and the lower setting will increase the depth penetration.
Select Power to obtain an acceptable image while using the lowest set-
ting possible. The Doppler Power setting affects only Doppler operat-
ing modes.
Use all noise reduction controls with care. Excessive application may

obscure low level diagnostic information.
Use the Sweep to optimize the sweep speed.
Use Invert to reverse the vertical component of the spectral Doppler
area of the display.
Use Angle to steer the ultrasound beam to the blood flow to be mea-
sured.
