ters.
Carotid Measurement
Users can read the methods of the cardiac measurement for reference to
measure the carotid. Meanwhile, the unit provides an another method to au-
tomatically measure the intima-media thickness (IMT).
Note: This method applies only to 2D Mode with the linear probe installed.
To automatically measure the IMT, follow these steps:

On the control panel, press Patient, and then create or select a pa-
tient (Refer to 7.2.1 Patient Information).
Press Application, and then select a linear array probe from the All
Probes menu.
On the Applications menu, select Carotid.
If you cannot find it, add the carotid to the Applications menu by
customizing the Applications list on the Applications dialog (Refer
to 7.14.2 Exam).
Activate 2D Mode (Refer to 7.4.1 2D Mode), and then successively
press Freeze and Measure.
