Configuration Utility (ACU) for MS-DOS. The embedded
BIOS-based ACU and the MS-DOS-based ACU are similar utilities.
This chapter describes the functionality of ACU for MS-DOS only.
For information about running the ACU for MS-DOS, see Running
the ACU on page 13-2.

Interactive Versus Script Mode

When used in MS-DOS mode (also known as interactive mode), the
ACU offers the same interface and features as the BIOS-based
version (array creation, display, and deletion, as well as disk drive
initialization). See Using Interactive Mode on page 13-3, for
information on how to use the ACU's interactive interface.
In addition, the ACU for MS-DOS offers a special command-line
interface that enables you to create arrays based on parameters
specified in a plain-text script file. It also enables you to configure
certain controller channel properties. You can record a controller's
current array and channel configuration in a plain-text script file,
allowing you to easily restore your configuration or create a
configuration based on a script "template." See Using Script Mode on
page 13-8 for information on how to use the ACU's scripting
features.

Running the ACU

ACU.exe is on the CD that shipped with your controller. You can
find by opening the CD and browsing to the directory:
Dos\Apps\Acu.
To run the ACU for MS-DOS:

Copy the utility (ACU.exe) onto a bootable MS-DOS floppy disk.

Insert this bootable floppy into your floppy disk drive (A:).

Reboot or restart your system.
If you issue the command ACU without any command-line switches,
the ACU displays its main window and waits for your menu
selection (interactive mode). If you include any command-line
switches with the ACU command, ACU processes your command
with no further interaction (command-line or script mode).
