3.1 Reading Codes

Follow the procedure below to read codes.
1.
Turn the BHT ON.
− Note −
When turning the BHT on, reading may not
be successful immediately.
While reading, the beeping sound may also
be unsuccessful.
2.
Tap "BhtShell" icon on the desktop.
Then tap "4:Test", and then tap "1:SCANNER".
3.
Press the trigger key.
The BHT emits an illumination light.
4.
Point the illumination light toward the barcode
The LED indicator will illuminate in blue
when the BHT has read the code successfully.
Barcodes can be read also by pressing the Scan key.

The barcode reading method may vary
depending on the application.
Follow the instructions provided in the
application manual.
− Note −
Clean dirty labels before reading.
The BHT may have difficulty reading codes in direct sunlight.
If the barcode is on a curved surface, read the barcode at the center of the illumination light.
If the barcode reading window is too far away from the barcode, the readable range will become
narrower than the illumination light range.
Do not use the BHT near any radio equipment such as a personal radio or an amateur radio.
Failure to follow instruction may cause the BHT to malfunction.
