When having difficulty reading codes...
Cause
The BHT may not read a barcode due to
Specular
specular reflection when the illumination
reflection
light is pointed vertically at a barcode on
the printed surface.
The BHT may not read a barcode if the
BHT reading window is too close to or too
Distance from
far from the barcode, even when the
barcode
barcode is within the illumination light
range.
The BHT may not read a barcode if the
Curved surface
code surface is curved.
Barcode surface
The BHT may not read a barcode if the
dirt
code surface is dirty.
Barcode reading
The BHT may not read a barcode if the
window dirt

Direct sunlight,
The BHT may not read a barcode in direct
ambient light
sunlight or under high ambient light.

Change the BHT reading angle and try again.

Move the BHT slowly toward or away from the barcode
and try again.
The illumination light is only a guideline.
Maximum reading distance is 100cm from the BHT
reading window.
Read the barcode at the center of the barcode reading
window.
Wipe the dirt from the barcode and try again.
Blow any dust away with an airbrush, and then gently
wipe the reading window with a cotton swab or similar soft
object.
Read codes away from direct sunlight. Try adjusting the
brightness of the ambient light when reading codes
indoors.
