Backing Up the Previous Configuration

3. When you download the new switch software, download it to
the other APP memory location. For example, in Figure A-2,
you would download the new software to APP2.
To determine the APP location from which the switch loads the
previous version of software, use the following command:
Avaya>show flash
This command displays information about the application software
that is currently stored in APP1 and APP2. For more information
about this command, see Chapter 29, "System," in the Command
Reference Guide for the Avaya P550R, P580, P880, and P882 Multiservice
Switches.
Before you upgrade the switch software it is advised that the
previous configuration is backed up to a file or directory on a TFTP
server, back up the previous configuration to a file or directory on a
TFTP server. You can use either the Web Agent or CLI to perform
this task.
To back up the previous configuration by using the Web Agent:
1. In the navigation pane, expand the System >
Configuration > Configuration Files folders.
2. Select File Management.
The Configuration File Management Web page is
displayed in the content pane (Figure A-3).
