Starting a Telnet Session

Avaya P550R, P580, P880, and P882 Multiservice Switch User Guide, Version 5.3.1
* Note: You must be in Global Configuration mode and have
administrative privilege to enter the ip telnet port and ip
http port commands.
Use the following command to view the current TCP port settings
for Telnet and HTTP:
show tcp configuration
* Note: You must have administrative privilege to enter the show
tcp configuration command.

in the Command Reference Guide for the Avaya P550R, P580, P880, and
P882 Multiservice Switches, Version 5.3.1
Use the following MIB objects to change the TCP port for Telnet or
HTTP requests. These MIB objects are located in ProminetMib.txt,
version 5.2.
.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.prominet.
promPortMgmt.promTCPPortMgmt.promTCPPortHTTP
.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.prominet.
promPortMgmt.promTCPPortMgmt.promTCPPortTelnet
After changing the TCP port for Telnet requests to a port number
other than 23, you must specify the TCP port number in addition to
the IP address or host name to start a Telnet session.
For example, if you change the TCP port from 23 to 9998 on switch
192.168.0.126, enter telnet 192.168.0.126 9998 to start a Telnet
session.
