Satellite Navigation
Antenna patterns can also be used to simulate the signal absorption and the carrier
phase bias from any angle around a GNSS receiver.
Over-the-air (OTA) test
You can also load antenna patterns measured by some over-the-air (OTA) mea-
surements, e.g the R&S

10.4 Supported Multipath Models

Multipath is a term describing the situation when the satellite's signal reaches the
receiver via two or more paths. The direct signal path is referred as the ling-of-sigh
(LOS) signal, whereas the reflected paths are called echoes. Multipath propagation
affects the accuracy of the pseudorange measurements.
The severity of the multipath propagation effect depends mainly on the following:
The signal strength of the echoes
The delay between the LOS component and the echoes
In R&S SMW you can define static multipath effects per satellite, see
"Static
propagation is implemented as a tapped delay model and enables you to configure a
LOS component and up to 10 echoes per SV ID.

Visualizing the Effect of an Antenna

10.5.1 Visualizing the Effect of an Antenna Pattern

1. Select "GNSS > General > Set To Default".
2. Select "General > Simulation Mode > Navigation".
3. In the "Simulation Configuration > Systems&Signals" dialog, enable the required
navigation systems, e.g. a hybrid GPS, Galileo and GLONASS configuration.
4. Select "Simulation Configuration > Receiver > Position > Moving".
5. Select "Position Configuration > Waypont Files > Munich_Flight"
6. Select "Attitude Behaviour > Spinning".
7. Select "More > Spinning Rate = 0.1 Hz"
8. Select "Receiver > Antenna Configuration".
9. Select "A1 > Body Mask" and select one of the predefined files, e.g.
Space_Vehicle_3_antennas.ant_pat.
