Section 2. Operating the VS C-15 Leak Detector
This section defines how to navigate and operate the VS C15 component leak detector via
the optional front panel display.
Before an initial startup verify that:
VS C-15 Base unit is connected to the user leak detection vacuum system via a
single NW25 flange
Optional VS C-15 Display unit connected via a standard High Density 15-pin D-Sub
M/F Cable
VS C-15 24 VDC Power Cable (P/N# VSCBUPC8) with a Molex, HCS-125, Socket
Receptacle, P/N 03-12-1036 is connected to the user-provided 24 VDC, 5 A min,
power supply with a local branch 10 A Power Switch/Circuit breaker
A suitable Test Valve and the optional ConvecTorr gauge to control vacuum pressure
upstream of the VS C-15 System unit is provided
The optional ConvecTorr gauge is connected to VS C-15 via the CONVECTORR
GAUGE connector
One of several communications control interfaces is utilized via a computer (RS-
232), PLC (Parallel Discrete I/O) or Industrial Network (an optional ProfiNet-IO
module).

If a gauge is installed, it must be activated via the display
NOTE
(Section 6.3.1 "Advanced Parameters" on page 6-4) or via RS-
232 (Section 4 "RS-232 Interface and Operation"). Gauge status
can verified using the Advanced Parameters screen or via RS-
232 (SERVICE2 command or ?TCGAUGE command).
If a gauge is not installed, it must be deactivated via the display
or RS-232 to avoid a System Not Ready condition.
