2.3.8 Manual Tuning Procedure (Internal or External Standard Leak)

Run the Calibrate Procedure before manual tuning. The Emission is set during the Calibrate
Procedure.
The Emission and Ion settings can be changed for optimal leak detection by selecting the
Emission or Ion buttons and adjusting the values by pressing the UP or DOWN arrows (auto
repeat).
To change a manual tuning parameter:
1. Press Value of the desired parameter. When you press the box containing the desired
variable, a highlighted indicator appears to the right of the numbers.
2. Press the arrows to maximize the helium signal.
3. Press OK to accept the changes and to store the new parameter value in the leak
detector memory.
4. Press Done to exit the screen and return to the previous menu screen.
To manually tune the leak detector system using the VS C-15 Display unit:
1. Place the system in TEST mode.
2. Navigate to the Control Panel and turn the STD LEAK ON.
3. Navigate to the Calibration Set-Up screen and write down the INTERNAL CALIBRATED
LEAK value. This value is temperature compensated.

Changing Gain changes Zero by the same percentage.
External gain and internal gain have different ranging limits.
The higher the gain, the more noise shows up in the least
sensitive range.
Once a change of value is initiated, you can press Cancel to

exit the screen and revert to the original value.
Do not press the Cancel before pressing the OK . This causes
NOTE
the selected parameter to revert to its previously stored value.
