A.2.9 PROFINET I/O Module
The Network I/O PCB functions as liaison between VS Series LD and the external devices
such as PLC via an opto-isolated discrete I/O parallel interface or Industrial Network via an
Anybus CompactCom ProfiNet –IO, Plug-In Module. The Network I/O PCB is under full SW
control provided by the VS LD CPU PCB.
The Network I/O PCB circuitry provides:
The Discrete I/O circuitry resides on a stand-alone PCB comprised of six sections:
VS Series Component Leak Detector
Local CPU functions for Serial-to Parallel (Address, Data and Control signals)
conversion for the parallel discrete I/Os and embedded Anybus-CompactCom
Module interface.
Parallel Optically Isolated Input (7 lines) and Output (12 lines) Interface between
a VS C15 Base unit and an external equipment (e.g. PLC).
± 50V RS-232 Isolated Serial communication interface with the CPU PCB via the
Motherboard PCB.
Transformer Isolated Ethernet interface for instant ProfiNet Real Time
connectivity via the Anybus-CompactCom Profinet IO module and the uniform
Anybus-CompactCom host interface.
Local microprocessor control and valve failure detection signals for 2 solenoid
valves and Flapper Box interface.
Isolated +24V/ +3.3V conversion for the 3.3V-logic
CPU sections with ICD Programming Port: 5-pin connector (J102) and
Diagnostic port(4-pin connector J104 Isolated RS-232 Interface Section (system
site) with a RJ45-8x8 connector (J100)
Isolated Parallel Interface Section (customer site) with a 25-pin DB25 female
type connector (J203)
2-CH Valve Driver section with a 6-pin connector (J302)
Power supply section with a 3-pin connector (J301)
Anybus-CompactCom Module Interface section with a 50-pin CompactFlash
type connector (J105).
