ppp max-terminate

ppp max-terminate
To configure the maximum number of terminate requests (TermReqs) to send without reply before closing
down the Link Control Protocol (LCP) or Network Control Protocol (NCP), use the ppp max-terminate
command in interface configuration mode. To disable the maximum number of TermReqs and return to the
default, use the no form of this command.
ppp max-terminate number
no ppp max-terminate

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes appropriate task
IDs. If the user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.

Examples
In the following example, a maximum of five TermReqs are specified to be sent before terminating and closing
LCP or NCP:
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router# configure
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router(config)# interface POS 0/3/0/1
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router(config-if)# encapsulation ppp
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:router(config-if)# ppp max-terminate 5
