Removing the Wheel Motor

If wheel motor hub removal is necessary (to replace the drive studs for example);
refer to the
Hydro-Gear HGM-H™ Series Motor Service and Repair Manual
hub removal and installation information.
If the wheel motor is replaced in part or in whole, the traction control
linkage requires adjustment before returning the machine to service;
refer to
Adjusting the Traction Speed (page

1. Remove the rear wheel; refer to
(page
7–5).
2. Remove the fasteners securing the brake link to the brake actuator.
3. Read and adhere to the information provided in
Removing and Installing the Hydraulic System Components (page
4. Clean the area around the hydraulic tube and fitting connections then
disconnect or remove the hydraulic tubes from the wheel motor. Cap or plug
the disconnected hydraulic tubes and fittings to prevent hydraulic system
contamination.
5. Support the wheel motor and remove the fasteners securing the wheel motor
to the frame, then remove the wheel motor from the machine.
6. If necessary, remove the hydraulic fittings from the motor. Record the
locations and orientations of the fittings for assembly purposes.
7. Remove and discard all the O-rings from the hydraulic tubes, and fittings
that were disconnected or removed.
