Removing and Installing the Battery

Battery-electrolyte is corrosive and can burn skin and eyes and
damage clothing.
While working with the batteries, use extreme caution to avoid
splashing or spilling of the electrolyte. Always wear the safety
goggles and a face shield while working with batteries.

Be careful when removing the battery cables and ensure that you do
not damage the terminal posts or cable connectors.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, set the key switch to the Off position
and remove the key from the key switch.
2. Remove the hood.
3. Loosen and remove the negative (-) cable from the battery. Position the
disconnected cable away from the battery.
4. Disconnect the positive cable (+) from the battery.
5. Remove the fasteners and tie-down bracket that secures the battery to the
battery tray.
