Flushing the Hydraulic System

If a component failure occurs in the traction circuit; refer to
Filtering the Closed-loop Traction Circuit (page 5–51)
information.
Flush the hydraulic system whenever there is a severe component
failure or the system is contaminated (for example, the fluid appears
milky, black, or contains metal particles).
1. Park the machine on a level surface, engage the parking brake, set the key
switch to the O
position and remove the key from the key switch.

Flush the hydraulic system with the hydraulic fluid as warm as
possible, but to prevent additional system damage, Do Not operate a

Follow all local codes and regulations when recycling or disposing

3. Drain the hydraulic reservoir into a suitable container; refer to the traction
unit Operator's Manual.
4. Drain the hydraulic system hoses, tubes, lift cylinder and other components
from low points in the system.
5. Remove and replace the hydraulic-fluid filter; refer to the traction unit
Operator's Manual.
6. Inspect and clean hydraulic reservoir. Remove the hydraulic reservoir f
