8. Remove the fuel tank and evaporative canister; refer to
Tank (page 4–10)
and
(page
4–12).
9. Disconnect the throttle and choke control cables from the engine.

Note: Record the control cable routing, linkage connection, and clamp
location for assembly purpose.
10. Disconnect the engine electrical connections (front right corner of engine):
• the positive (+) battery cable and fusible link harness at the starter motor
stud
• the machine wire harness at the engine wire harness connector
• the negative (-) battery cable and wire harness ground connectors at the
engine crankcase
Note: Record wire routing and the location of any cable ties and clamps
removed for assembly purpose.
