Assembling the Fuel Evaporative Control System

1. Remove the fuel tank; refer to
2. Record the evaporative control system hose and clamp routing/location for
installation purposes.
3. Remove the evaporative control system components as necessary.
4. Inspect the carbon canister, canister fresh air filter, and evaporative system
hoses for damage or leaks and repair or replace as necessary.
Refer to Figure 11 for this procedure.
1. Install any previously removed evaporative system components.
2. If the carbon canister was removed from the clamp, ensure the canister is
installed with the fresh air filter pointing directly downward.
3. Connect any disconnected hoses and secure them with hose
clamps as noted. Ensure that the evaporative system hoses are not
kinked/pinched/restricted after installation.
