Grass screen
To ensure proper engine cooling, make sure the hydraulic fluid cooler, grass
screen, oil cooler and other external surfaces of the engine are kept clean
at all times.
The engine that powers the Field Pro 6040 is air–cooled. The
engine also includes an oil cooler. Operating the engine with a
blocked grass screen, a plugged or dirty blower housing, or dirty or
otherwise obstructed oil cooler may result in engine overheating
and engine damage.

for this procedure.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, engage the parking brake, set the key
switch to the O
position and remove key from the switch.

2. Clean the hydraulic fluid cooler screen.
3. Remove the hydraulic fluid cooler assembly and clean the grass screen
and blower housing of dirt and debris if necessary; refer to
Hydraulic Fluid Cooler (page
4. Clean the cooling fins on both cylinder heads.
5. If blower housing removal is necessary for cooling system cleaning, the
engine needs to be removed from the machine; refer to
Engine (page
4–21).
